I can sadly say I probably would be in the same boat as you forgetting a small but dangerous item in your house. Taking apart, and tinkering with stuff is fun but cleaning up after is not, so, I understand why that would completely slip your mind. I am really glad to hear my little cousin isn't dying and had a good time at the E.R though, someone had to have fun while dad was having a heart attack!
