So my choice of a post this time unfortunatly is not a movie Critique. So sorry =D
anyways so lately i have become way into Drama/theatre. And The disease has infected my whole body and mind as a ravaging monster gobbling everything having to have the slightest incling of the fine arts. (i’m even memorizing a Monologue for the school play!)
what i am mostly getting to is, Do you have a favorite Play or Musical that you would like to share?
and if not is there anything that sparks your interest

although i have many favorites i really love Sweeney Todd. Whats way cool is its coming out as a movie on the 21 of december, and its directed by Tim burton and Johnny Depp is in it! i am very stoked for this one!

I love Phantom and les mis I have seen them both and love them. I have seen the promo for sweeny todd and am watching to understand the story..is it that he was innocent and accused of murder and when he comes out of prison he kills who put him there????

Sweeney Todd is about this man who had a beautiful wife and a year old daughter when a judge sends him to australia with a trumped up charge
He comes back saved by a guy named anthony and brings him back to london. This time he came back with a vengance
the judge hurt his wife in short and ruined his life
so he came back to kill everyone because he thinks everyone deserves to die.
So the lady Mrs lovett the maker of londons worst pies in london and him go in cahoots with each other and puts the people he kills in her pies and she becomes the best pie maker in london
it is so good though!

It’s the British version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre…part 2 at least. Yes I am very stoked for that show as well. One of my favorite movie/play/books is Count of Monte Cristo. I love that one.

Hey ahhhuuuugha, the jugde rapes and kills Sweeney Todds wife, this is what causes the unsatiable vengence.
I’ve seen Phantom and les mis also, loved them! I really want to see the broadway play Wicked.
As far a shakespear goes I really like ‘much ado about nothing’ (Beatrice and Benidict) and ‘The taming of the shrew’ (Kate is awesome). I had a drama class in High School where we had to act out scences from the taming of the shrew and it was so fun, only thing I ever got %100 on… hmm what does that mean?
I love Jane Austins, Pride and Predjudice too. The man of La Mancha (a play that made me cry). Was really good… has that one song, to reach the unreachable star, I love that. Then there is always Beauty and the Beast.
Syd, have you ever gone to the Desseret star theator? They do spoofs and are so funny!
Now I need to see a play soon! Who wants to go with?

my best friend was in it though.

Home for the Holidays is playing Nov 30 – Dec 22 at the Desert Star Theatre. It would be really fun. Well have to talk to Gongey to see what what be a good time for him.
